I was asked by someone “how do you deal with fear of failing?” There is no easy answer.
We are ALL afraid of failure. Some of us respond by raising our game and some of us shut down entirely, I’ve done them both…many times.
First, we have to figure out for ourselves if we are actually afraid of failing or afraid of success. Internal thoughts of, “I’m not good enough”, or “strong enough”, or “I don’t deserve success” will wreak havoc on you and shut you down. Believe in YOURSELF. If you don’t believe in yourself, then who will?
Maybe we are not ready for the responsibility and hard work of success. After all, when you succeed, you are expected to continuously succeed, and that can be a lot to bear. If we don’t give everything we have to succeed, most chances are we won’t taste victory. We WILL fail. You have to WANT success!
If you want to succeed, then it’s up to you to raise your game. If you don’t try your best to succeed, someone else will..someone will take your place. So, whether it’s in school, sports, or your career, you gotta be the best you can be to be the champion that you are MEANT to be. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, just be your best using the skills that you have now, and build on that. Keep working at it and I promise that you will succeed a lot more often than you ever have before. It’s damn true!
