Oh, it's true! It's Damn true!
After dominating the Olympics and amateur wrestling world, Kurt transitioned to professional wrestling, becoming the only 12-time World Heavyweight Champion to conquer all TNA and WWE top titles, in addition to receiving the TNA’s X Division Championship, European Championship, Hardcore Championship and King of the Ring titles.
HIS NAME IS KURT ANGLE AND WHAT THE HECK
Kurt entered the professional wrestling ring with WWF/WWE in 1998, receiving accolades almost immediately, like Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Rookie of the Year and Most Inspirational Wrestler of the Year. He was part of some of the WWE’s most memorable moments, including Stone Cold Steve Austin and the cowboy hats, and Milk-O-Mania. He was also John Cena’s first match, and their rap battles and constant ribbing were huge fan favorites.
He won a gold medal with a broken freakin' neck
Kurt’s time at WWF/E saw him annihilate the competition, racking up championship after championship throughout his eight-year stay. From the King of the Ring, WCW United States Championship, and WWF Intercontinental Championship, all the way to the World Heavyweight Championship, Triple Crown Championship and 2017 WWE Hall of Fame, Kurt’s impact on fans and record books alike remains among the most unforgettable in professional wrestling history.
In search of a new battlefield to conquer, Kurt joined TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling), where he once again dominated the opposition, becoming a six-time World Heavyweight Champion, among numerous other titles. He has been inducted into both the TNA Hall of Fame and the WWE Hall of Fame. Kurt is also the only wrestler in history to become a Triple Crown winner in both the WWE and TNA, and he is the only wrestler to win every individual title in his first year as a professional wrestler.
Since retiring from in-ring competition, Kurt now works behind the scenes as a producer for the WWE, among other projects in film, TV, speaking engagements, and numerous charity works.
