Dear Younger Me

I listened to a song on K-LOVE today (Yes, I’m a K-LOVE listener. I love it!), and it was about reaching out to yourself when you were younger so you could change the many mistakes you’ve made. I started to smile because I would LOVE to go back in time to inform myself of the rights and wrongs that would come into my life.

But then I started to think about how predictable my life would have been. There’s no fun in knowing where you’re headed. Would I truly want to know everything that was going to happen to me? Probably not. Would I be more successful and richer? Yes. But what is life really about if you know “everything” you’re going to do before you do it? Kind of takes the fun out of it, doesn’t it? I love surprises and twists and turns. I wouldn’t want my life to be predictable. So, Dear Younger Me, I’m not going to tell you squat. Live your life, and try to enjoy the good and learn from the bad. You will have lived a great life if you keep it unpredictable. Oh, it’s true!!
