I was never one to get emotional around Christmas time, until about 3 years ago, when I got clean and sober. I wanted to write this post to express how much I love and appreciate my family, especially during this holiday season. And, if something should ever happen to me, I want them to know how happy I am, right at this moment.
I thought money and success was everything. I had done it all. I won Olympic Gold, I was one of the greatest amateur and pro wrestlers of all time, I’d even had fun dabbling into the movie industry, which I still enjoy very much, but it wasn’t until 2013 that I realized how important my family is. These last few years have been an awakening experience from GOD himself, he has shown me what I was missing in my life, it was happening right in front of me and I just didn’t see it since I preferred getting high on prescribed medication and alcohol (yes, believe it or not it was prescribed, but that’s another story I will tell someday). I was missing what life had to offer.
My wife Giovanna is an amazing soul. She is beautiful, loving, giving and kind to everyone, but she is a mother and wife 1st and she protects her family. It’s amazing to learn these things from someone much younger than myself. She is the best thing that ever happened to me, besides my 4 beautiful children: Kyra, Kody, Giulia’na, and Sophia. THEY make me want to be a better person, father, and husband.
I’ve never been more proud of my family. The way we laugh together and enjoy our time together is irreplaceable. So if I should pass away anytime soon, by GOD’s grace, I want my family to know that they’ve completed my life. And that, although I’ve done everything I ever wanted to do in my life, nothing compares to the LOVE that I have for my wife and kids. You have made me so happy and grateful, and my only wish for you is that you accomplish everything your heart desires. I will do anything for you and I want you all to know I’m proud to be your father, and husband. All I expect from you is for you to always be YOU. That’s the one thing that will make me proud. Don’t let anyone or anything change who you are. Make your life count, and do it YOUR way. I love you all dearly and will love you to the heavens and back forever.
